Role Summary
Dyne is seeking a co-op for the Oligonucleotide Chemistry team who is passionate about research and excited to participate in developing therapies for rare diseases with unmet needs. This student will focus on RNA therapeutics at the intersection of chemistry and biology, with a particular emphasis on synthesizing oligonucleotides (short DNA and RNA analogs) ability to turn off the expression of disease-causing genes. This work will help us enhance our growing pipeline driving innovation and accelerating development of new therapies.
This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote. This is a 6-month position beginning in July.

Primary Responsibilities Include
- Perform solid phase synthesis of chemically modified oligonucleotides at various scales to support in vitro and in vivo experiments
- Perform purification of oligonucleotides to achieve high purity standards
- Perform analysis (HPLC/UPLC), and characterization (LCMS, UV, melting temperature) of oligonucleotides and their conjugates
- Multi-task across several projects
- Gather data, create compelling slides, and present findings in group meetings
- Eagerness to learn key aspects of RNA therapeutics and to synthesize oligonucleotides to support this research
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry or related fields
- Prior lab experience highly preferred
- Background/coursework in chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry required
- General knowledge of DNA/RNA structure and function is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of software applications using Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
