POSITION SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources operations across the assigned BioUrja Group business units. This role will partner with the business to carry out various HR employee life-cycle responsibilities including onboarding, compensation, training and development, and performance management. This position will report to the Manager, HR Business Partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Managers and Employees across various HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, training and development, records management, safety and health, employee relations and retention and completing personnel transactions.
- Supports external (social media) and internal communication to highlight company initiatives and activities.
- Improves manager and employee performance by identifying issues and evaluating and implementing selected solution, as well as coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.
- Lead and contribute to projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
- Manages client expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Ensure compliance and protect organization’s value by keeping employee and company information confidential.
- Leverage working knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements in all states BioUrja operates in by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Continue learning and growing by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and bring new insights to the team..
- Be flexilble and proactive by supporting ad hoc HR projects and initiatives as needed and seeking out opportunities to add additional value to the team and organization as a whole.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Travel up to 20% to maintain strong business partner relationships with employees and business entity being supported.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICIATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other business-related field of study.
- 5 years HR Business Partner experience working as an HR Generalist / or specialist area.
- Union experience preferred but not required.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, conditional formatting, data tables, etc.).
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in a high-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving capabilities: ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Ability to combine HR knowledge with information retrieval skills and translate technical data into non-technical formats for ease of understanding and administration.
- Able to exercise a high degree of confidentiality.
- Highly energetic and self-starter.
- Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
