What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blending Manager position at BioZyme Inc?
Purpose:
The Manager of Blending is responsible for on-time, clean, safe, productive, and efficient manufacturing as well as the related personnel at the Stockyards facility.
Accountabilities:
- Recruit, train, manage, develop, motivate, and review manufacturing personnel to meet production objectives safely and effectively
- Oversee records management associated with production
- Lead the team managers who supervise employees in production efforts, maintaining responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and personnel evaluation
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper records for all drugs used in manufacturing
- Coordinate communication between departments and divisions pertinent to maintaining manufacturing effectiveness and efficiency
- Stay informed of new manufacturing technologies and equipment that would reduce costs or improve effectiveness
- Provide information and recommendations to the Director of Blending related to production effectiveness and related cost-reduction opportunities
- Establish specific performance criteria and conduct CONNECTs to ensure each direct report meets performance objectives
- Act as coach and counsel to each direct report by participating with them in their assigned roles to critique their performance both positively (recognition) and constructively (suggestions for improvement)
- Follow all standard operating procedures as well as requirements set by SFSF, NASC, and FAMI-QS
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a written and driving exam to prove capability of safely operating a forklift
- At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing of premixes
- Experience managing projects
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas), and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
- Physically able to lift and move 50lb. on a regular basis
- Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes , and other PPE required by specific jobs)
- Willing and able to work off hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
