Job Description
Immediate need for an Educational American Sign Language Interpreter for a school starting in the Fall!
We are seeking to hire a full-time Sign Language Interpreter who holds an EIPA score of 3.3 or higher. Must be fluent in American Sign Language and have recent classroom interpreting experience.
We need a facilitator who can communicate with students' in school setting and has classroom interpreting experience.

Education Requirements
- Must be a Certified Sign Language Interpreter in North Carolina
- Must hold a 3.3. score or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) (Educational Interpreter I);
- OR Must hold an Associate’s degree in Applied Science for Interpreter Educational program from an accredited college or university; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Educational Interpreting from an accredited program with a passing score of 3.3 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (E.I.P.A.) (II)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hearing impaired.
- High school student
- Work one-on-with student on a daily basis.
- Has experience interpreting for students in an instructional learning environment.
- Communicate through sign language .
- Facilitate communication to student, peers, school Administrators and teachers.
- Understands the learning challenges for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Be expressive receptive, and communicate through clear interpreting signs.
- Effectively interpret in sign language effectively, accurately and impartially.
- Educate parents, families, and staff on student's progress.
- Participate in classroom instruction, discussion, and other educational activities with in a school setting.
- Fluent in American sign language interpreting.
- Facilitate communication for student.
