A Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position for the remainder of theschool year has opened near Statesville, North Carolina. We are looking for a hard-working candidate interested in working with elementary school students andmeets the following qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in ASL or Educational Interpreting
- Must hold an active SLI National Certification
About the Position:
- Current School Year: ASAP Start
- Full-time: up to 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 2:15 pm
- Caseload: 1-1 with a student, specific caseload details will be discussed during the interview process
- Interpret conversations, lectures, classroom instruction, meetings, presentations, and other spoken language interactions.
- Facilitate effective communication by adapting sign language interpretation to meet the needs and preferences of individuals with diverse communication styles.
- Collaborate with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as with hearing individuals, such as teachers, administrators, colleagues, and service providers, to ensure effective communication and a seamless exchange of information.
