Position Summary
The People & Culture Intern will be an integral member of the People & Culture team, working closely with the People & Culture Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources, focusing on key aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to engagement and offboarding. The intern will contribute to projects that promote a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity, support the development of internal communications strategies, and play a critical role in identifying and improving operational processes. Additionally, the intern will assist in planning and organizing company events, contribute to strategic HR initiatives, and analyze employee feedback through tools like eNPS to help drive meaningful improvements in workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a positive employee experience and eager to contribute to a thriving and dynamic workplace.
Location
Must be based in San Diego. Will be called into our San Diego office at manager’s discretion.
Main Duties
- Assist in day-to-day office management and support internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture Manager to support employees throughout the full employee lifecycle.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as preparing documents, managing files, and maintaining HR tools and software.
- Conduct audits and improve workflows and processes to ensure efficiency.
- Participate in initiatives focused on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.
- Review and suggest enhancements to timekeeping and PTO processes, including automation opportunities.
- Assist with planning and executing employee engagement events, wellness programs, and team-building activities.
- Work with managers to identify employee needs, assist with role profile creation, and connect with local universities for recruitment.
- Assist with screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Create engaging materials for company meetings and DEI/Culture presentations.
- Assist in organizing training sessions, tracking employee training progress, and maintaining learning resources.
- Support the maintenance of employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws, and assist with policy documentation and updates.
- Support benefits onboarding/offboarding tasks.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program specializing in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Operations, Communications, or a related field.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- Passionate about human resources, company culture, and people operations.
- Strong desire for real-world experience and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with HR processes, onboarding, and operational workflows is a plus.
Internship Details
- Hybrid role with a mix of on-site and remote work.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments.
- Part-time paid internship with an hourly rate of $20.
Compensation
- Expected Pay: $20 Hourly DOE
