The Role: Senior People & Culture Generalist
Are you a people-first HR pro who lives for creating incredible workplace experiences, solving people puzzles, and running smooth, drama-free payroll? We're on the lookout for a Senior People & Culture Generalist—to champion culture, support our people, and make Verve an even better place to work (yes, it’s possible).
Requirements
What You’ll Own:
- People Support: Be a go-to partner for the VP of People — jump in when needed to be a creative problem-solver.
- People Performance: Support performance cycles, benefits administration, and compliance needs.
- Payroll Processing: Run semi-monthly payroll like a champ (Paylocity experience = gold star).
- HRIS Reporting: Oversee HRIS updates, people metrics, and clean reporting.
- Culture & Engagement: Support engagement initiatives, leadership programs, and team events.
- Policy & Compliance: Keep us buttoned up across multi-state (and especially CA!) employment laws.
- People Life Cycle: Lead onboarding, offboarding, and everything in between with care.
- Workplace Experience: Create a great experience for our team members, clients and partners
- You are a Servant Leader in people and business interactions – you get energy from serving others
- At your core your mission is to put People & Relationships first – you are a natural relationship builder
- You are a modern People Operator – you are progressive and an out of the box thinker
- You will value Positive Psychology
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications, psychology, or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- SHRM - CP/SCP Certification
- 4–6 years in a generalist/people ops role (with payroll chops!)
- Strong working knowledge of California employment law
- Experience with Paylocity? Even better
- Organized, proactive, and know how to have fun
- Big on trust, empathy, and accountability
