Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will drive business growth within the Florida region, identifying strategic opportunities and building relationships with key stakeholders. This role reports to the Chief of Business Development (CDO) and involves managing market intelligence, sales strategy, and client engagement to position BSI for long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify business opportunities and industry trends.
- Develop and execute strategic business development and marketing initiatives.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key clients, consultants, and partners.
- Lead pursuit strategies, including pre-selling, proposal development, and interview participation.
- Track client organizational changes and ensure timely communication with project teams.
- Contribute to regional business planning and forecasting, identifying pipeline gaps and strategies for growth.
- Oversee project prequalification submissions and proposal management.
- Coordinate and participate in local networking events and industry activities.
- Act as a liaison between business development, estimating, marketing, and project teams.
- Ensure accurate tracking of pipeline opportunities and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in construction, development, or an industrial environment preferred.
- Experience in preconstruction, estimating, project planning, or project delivery is a plus.
- Strong understanding of business administration, marketing fundamentals, and financial planning.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of industry practices, contract types, financing strategies, and risk analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for networking and relationship-building.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel as needed (50-60%).
- Must be located in either Jacksonville or Orlando, FL.
