POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Coordinator for the MAX Foundation will oversee the development and delivery of programs designed to support BJCTA employees and Birmingham-Jefferson County residents facing financial and socioeconomic challenges. This role focuses on providing resources such as rental and mortgage assistance, utility assistance, educational initiatives, health and wellness programs, workforce development, and related support services. The Program Coordinator will collaborate with stakeholders, staff, and community partners to ensure the effective implementation of services that align with the Foundation’s mission and vision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities-
1. Program Development & Management:
- Lead the development and implementation of program strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of programs, ensuring that all activities are delivered on time, within budget, and meet specified outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine program models and ensure continuous improvement.
2. Team Coordination & Leadership:
- Supervise and support program staff, volunteers, and partners, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure program success.
- Ensure that all team members are clear on their roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
3. Client Services Management:
- Oversee the intake process, assess eligibility, and create individualized plans for participants.
- Ensure that referrals, follow-up services, and support are tailored to address participants' short- and long-term needs.
- Manage crisis and conflict resolution strategies for clients in need.
4. Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and compliance with financial policies.
- Monitor program expenditures to ensure programs stay within budget while maintaining quality.
- Coordinate with finance teams to track and report spending.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Create and implement mechanisms for tracking program performance, outcomes, and impact.
- Collect and analyze data to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders, including donors, funders, and board members.
6. Community Engagement & Partnerships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, funders, and collaborators.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences to promote programs and build partnerships.
- Advocate for the program’s impact and contribute to resource development efforts, including grant writing and fundraising initiatives.
7. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to program implementation.
- Identify and manage potential risks to program success, including logistical, financial, and reputational risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Passionate about The MAX Foundation’s mission and vision, with the determination to achieve goals related to current and future strategic plans.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multi-faceted programs and leading teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management for nonprofit programs.
- Caring, humble, and people-oriented servant leader.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and program evaluation.
