Job Summary:
The Finance Director – Specialty Lines is responsible for managing the financial operations of the Division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. This role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for a division generating more than $100 million in revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
-Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
-Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
-Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide actionable insight for the benefit of operations management.
-Establish, maintain, and monitor appropriate accruals for both revenue and cost to support monthly close processes.
2. Strategic Planning:
-Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
-Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies.
-Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
-Participate in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
-Monitor and report on budget variances, providing explanations and corrective actions.
4. Internal Controls and Compliance:
-Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
-Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
-Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
5. Financial Analysis:
-Conduct financial analysis to support business initiatives and projects.
-Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
-Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Must have experience providing financial, strategic and business operations support to business leaders.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard full-cycle accounting practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
