Position Summary: The Director of Business Operations at Bishop McNamara High School plays a crucial role in the strategic financial management and operational effectiveness of the school. This senior-level position does not function as a Chief Financial Officer but rather focuses on managing daily business and finance operations and strategic projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the school through effective oversight and leadership in various operational areas. The School operates on a $22M annual operating budget with an enrollment of about 900 students. The Director of Business Operations reports to the President/CEO.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Management: Oversee and manage the school's financial operations including tuition and related revenues, expenses, cash flow, and accounts payable. Provide timely reconciliations and budget forecasts for key users and our Board of Directors.
- Strategic oversight of capital improvement projects, particularly the current project to renovate 50,000 gsf. This involves coordination with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage a team comprising Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Bookstore Manager, ensuring efficient operation of these key areas.
- Contract Management: Oversee and negotiate contracts related to food service, technology, and special projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with school's goals.
- Partnership Management: Serve as the main point of contact for the school's financial operations partner, EdOps. Oversee the partnership ensuring they deliver monthly reconciliations, interface effectively with the audit team, and present critical financial data to the Board’s finance committee.
- Board Liaison: Hold a staff seat on the Board Finance Committee, contributing to the strategic financial planning and reporting processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in school related business and financial management with responsibilities including adult management, budget creation and oversight, tuition collection, and financial system management.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial systems and software such as Financial Edge, Senior Systems, or similar accounting platforms.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing teams and projects effectively, with a focus on strategic leadership and accountability.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Education: At least a bachelor's degree in a related content area.
Compensation: In the range of $125,000 - $145,000, commensurate with experience.
Strategic Notes & Updates: This role is designed to enhance financial operations, improve accountability, and drive efficiency at Bishop McNamara High School. The Director of Business Operations will provide leadership that bridges daily financial activities with strategic financial planning and oversight, facilitated by EdOps. This role will address existing challenges by clarifying responsibilities, improving communication with EdOps, and enhancing accountability within the financial operations team.
