What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services (Cashier) position at BISHOP PAIUTE TRIBE DBA WANAAHA CASINO?
POSITION SUMMARY
Delivers excellent customer service at all times. Responsible for accurately processing customer transactions and accountable for assigned cash drawer. Conduct loyalty program transactions including new sign-ups, issuing replacement cards, player account inquiries, and assisting in implementing seasonal promotions and events. Protect casino assets at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide excellent customer service while working in conjunction with other Guest Service representatives and assisting the Lead Cashier/Cash Operations Manager with the daily operations.
- Verify, record, and balance all shift transactions (i.e. fills, even exchanges, TITO tickets, checks, etc.)
- Counts and verifies all cash/coin/chip transactions in the player service booth.
- Makes change for customers and exchange coins/chips for cash.
- Properly endorse checks/receipts/vouchers for cash received and cash disbursements. Maintain cash receipts and disbursements by shift.
- Complies with Federal cash reporting requirements, including Title 31.
- Check and verify Jackpot Payout Slips for accuracy and completion prior to payout.
- Prepare and furnish to the vault all sales/credit slips at shift end.
- Redeem points for cash credits earned from loyalty program.
- Encourage loyalty program participation and inform guests of the benefits of the program.
- Entering and updating player data information into the computer for members of the loyalty club.
- Have knowledge and inform customers of all rules and regulations pertaining to the loyalty rewards program, special events and promotions.
- Safeguards casino assets.
- Ensure that rules and laws applicable to the gaming operation are enforced and abided by.
- Must report violations to appropriate authorities as necessary.
- Must learn department policies and procedures and be willing to enforce and abide by those procedures.
- All duties as assigned by Lead Cashier/Cash Operations Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous cashier or money handling experience desired but will train the right candidate.
- Computer literacy and the ability to use a 10-key numeric keypad is desired.
- Proficiency in mathematics is preferred.
- Experience and proficient in great communication skills and customer service is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations is required.
- Ability to process information effectively to learn new materials, identify and define problems and to make decisions is required.
- Ability to become familiar with all Guest Services functions.
- Must possess ability to interact with the public and fellow employees, demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity and maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
- The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability and willingness to attend additional training is required.
- Able to hear and speak effectively in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to work various schedules, on an as-needed basis; as work schedules could vary and will involve day, evening, or nighttime hours during the week and/or on weekends.
- Cannot have any cash related criminal convictions.
- Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
