- Operates a bucket truck and other specialized equipment to prune and remove trees; operates a log loader, front end loader, chipper and dump truck.• Removes dead, dying or hazardous trees.• Cleans up storm-related damage.• Removes stumps.• Plants trees.• Repairs irrigation lines.• Assists with snow removal operations.• Conducts daily vehicle and equipment inspections.• Inspects firewood piles.• Diagnoses and treats trees for pests.• Performs related duties.
- Knowledge of arboricultural and urban forestry practices and techniques.• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and methods use in the planting, pruning, and maintenance of trees.• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures.• Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance principles.• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.• Skill in the operation of variety of tree maintenance tools and equipment.• Skill in prioritizing and planning.• Skill in interpersonal relations.• Skill in oral and written communication.
