Position Description & Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development & Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in Mechatronics Engineering Technology, with an emphasis on applied engineering, system integration, and automation. Key topics include work cell design, robotics, system programming, process control, and industry-standard software for modeling, quality measurement, and reliability analysis.
- Hands-on Learning & Lab Instruction: Foster a learn-by-doing approach to learning by providing students with hands-on experiences in lab settings. Guide students in building problem-solving and system integration skills that are critical for success in the field of mechatronics.
- Industry Collaboration: Work closely with industry partners to ensure that our curriculum meets the evolving needs of the workforce and incorporates the latest advancements in automation, robotics, and manufacturing technologies.
- Student Mentoring: Provide academic and career guidance to students, helping them succeed both in the classroom and in their professional development.
- Record Keeping & Grade Submission: Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, including grades, attendance, and other relevant academic data.
- Committee Work & Program Outreach: Actively participate in departmental and institutional committees, contribute to program outreach activities, and collaborate with colleagues.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean or Academic Dean in support of the department’s academic and strategic goals.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of mechatronics principles and their application in industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Curriculum development, teaching, and/or training experience.
- Experience with hands-on teaching methods.
- Industry-related certifications.
- Hands-on experience in the field strengthens industry connections and ensures program relevance.
