Position Description & DetailsBismarck State College invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Practice in Physics to join our dynamic academic community. This position is ideal for a passionate educator with a strong foundation in physics, a commitment to student success, and a desire to contribute to the growth and development of our students in both college and university-level courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Instruction: Lead and teach a variety of physics courses with a focus on fostering student engagement and deepening their understanding of fundamental concepts.
- Student Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic and professional development both in and out of the classroom.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student performance, including grades, attendance, and academic progress.
- Committee Work: Participate actively in departmental and university committees, contributing to curriculum development, academic planning, and other key initiatives.
- Commencement Participation: Take part in commencement ceremonies, celebrating student achievement and fostering a sense of community within the institution.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean or Dean to support the academic mission and goals of the department.
- Appropriate master’s degree.
- College teaching experience.
