Overview
The Associate Domestic Transportation Analyst will have responsibilities for supporting the Senior Analyst in gathering, analyzing, and making recommendations to improve key performance measurements. In addition, they will plan and coordinate shipping activities for customer orders. Those activities will include combining orders for shipment, assigning carrier and ship dates to shipments. The Associate Domestic Transportation Analyst will work with BISSELL warehouses and partner carriers to ensure orders ship on time to meet the customer shipping requirements. After shipment they will be the main point of contact for tracking shipments until delivery. They will also be responsible for supporting and backing up the Domestic Transportation Senior Analyst position. This support will include some ongoing activities and full support when the Senior Analyst is out of the office. In support of that role and their own responsibilities, they would be expected to provide continuous improvement ideas along with corrective action to solve issues.

Responsibilities
- Reviewing orders and selecting orders with similar origin, destination, and arrival date characteristics for shipment together.
- Reviewing available carrier rates on shipments and selecting the most cost-effective carrier eligible.
- Tendering loads available for shipment to select carriers. Ensuring carriers either accept or reject tender loads.
- Assigning ship date and times to shipments and ensuring those dates and times are accurately reflected on warehouse dock schedules.
- Working with BISSELL warehouses to maintain carrier equipment pools to ensure enough equipment is available for carrier’s shipment volume.
- Appoint shipments for delivery at customer’s distribution centers in accordance with customer requirements
- Route collect freight for shipment with customer.
- Track shipments to ensure on time delivery to customers.
- Successfully back up the Senior Analyst and assist in the decision-making process for network optimization.
- Analyze all outbound transportation lanes and make judgements within scope to reduce costs and improve customer metrics while meeting operational requirements.
- Takes responsibility for chargeback analyzation and supports strategies in ensuring customer requirements are communicated to the Transportation coordinators ensuring compliance and to avoid future chargebacks.
- Develops customer specific transportation models inclusive of distribution & transportation costs. Ensure models support customer’s requirements for on time shipment and delivery.
- Possess skills to understand, collaborate and apply knowledge to work through and address regulatory issues in the industry.
- Is proficient in Oracle OTM software and uses knowledge to recommend alternative SCM strategies.
- Develops key operational metrics, analyzes, reports, and makes recommendations in cooperation with the Senior Analyst.
- Manages transportation freight audit and payment process within scope and partners with Supply Chain leaders as needs arise.
- Must possess the ability to create strong positive partnerships internally and externally.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
