As a direct-to-consumer brand that’s expanding into wholesale, we’re looking for a Director of Operations to optimize our supply chain, drive efficiency, and support our growth in the oral care and personal care space.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a Director of Operations to oversee and optimize our supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and vendor relationships. This leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations, reducing costs, and maintaining high product quality. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, data-driven decision-maker, and experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced business.
Your Impact:
- Supply Chain Optimization: Streamline and scale our supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to refining product development processes. Ensure efficiency in procurement and vendor relationships.
- Vendor & Manufacturing Partnerships: Develop and negotiate relationships with suppliers and co-manufacturers to optimize costs, improve payment terms, and ensure production timelines are met. Travel internationally may be needed, domestic travel is required to manufacturing partners in the US.
- Logistics & Fulfillment: Manage relationships with 3PL providers, transportation partners, and warehouses to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Address any fulfillment challenges proactively.
- Demand Planning & Inventory Management: Work closely with marketing and finance to forecast demand, track inventory, and ensure optimal stock levels across DTC, wholesale, Amazon, and other channels.
- Margin & Cost Efficiency: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in raw materials, packaging, and shipping to improve profitability and reduce overall COGS.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Identify and vet corporate insurance policies, filings and compliance.
- Technology & Web: Work closely with marketing to ensure Bite’s website and tech infrastructure support growth initiatives, enhance user experience, and optimize data collection for business insights. Collaborate with developers and external vendors to improve site performance, integrations, and automation.
- Customer Support: Lead customer support representatives to ensure fast, high-quality customer service.
- Operational Excellence: Introduce standardized processes (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, improve data tracking, and ensure scalable growth.
- Continuous Sustainability Initiatives: Continually improve packaging, sourcing, and logistics to further Bite’s sustainability efforts.
You Have:
- 4-8 years of hands-on experience in operations, supply chain management, preferably in CPG or consumer brands.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in operations.
- Experience managing vendors, 3PL providers, and supply chain optimization.
- Proven success in scaling brands across DTC and wholesale.
- Willingness to travel domestically, including to supplier and manufacturing sites. International travel may be required.
- Proactive problem solving skills with the ability to see around corners and strong attention to detail and data analytics.
- Adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Background in financial planning and cost analysis preferred but not required.
