Corporate Operations
Cannabis industry Experience Required
a. Work with CEO and Board of Directors to develop and maintain strategic business plans to ensure profitability and compliance of all business activities including Retail, Production, Sales, Real Estate and corporate development, including financial modeling and forecasting
b. Work with CEO and HR & Compliance Director to ensure cost-effectiveness of company policies such as employee benefits and insurance policies
c. Work with CEO, Board of Directors, tax accountants and attorneys, and other stakeholders to lead the preparation and filing of all required federal, state and local tax returns, and other financial obligations and liabilities related to Massachusetts-licensed cannabis businesses
d. Manage audits and examinations by external auditors and regulatory agencies related to 1(c)
e. Provide best practice advice and guidance to CEO and Board of Directors to ensure regulatory compliance of and the application of accounting and inventory management best practices to company operations
2. Finance Department Operations
a. Manage and maintain all financial operations models and reports including but not limited to profit and loss, cashflow and forecasts, budgets and capital plans
b. Operate, and maintain accurate and compliant accounting systems and filing accounts, including but not limited Quickbooks, MassTaxConnect and payroll/timekeeping systems; serve as System Administrator for key accounts related to Finance operations
c. Manage payments and vendors related to accounts payable and receivable
d. Manage and enforce cash handling policies and procedures
e. In coordination with department heads, support management and enforcement of budgets, fixed asset schedules, costing models and production plans related to Production, Sales and Retail activities to ensure profitability
f. Manage company bank accounts and banking relationships
g. Support inventory management activities in Production, Sales and Retail to ensure industry best practices and accurate financial reporting
Physical requirements
- Extended time sitting and using a computer
- Ability to support physical inventory audits by reaching, bending, stooping in product storage areas
Skills and qualifications
- 10 years experience in related field(s); 3 years managing direct reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Valid CPA license or equivalent experience
- Advanced working knowledge of: GAAP accounting principles, 280(e) and other relevant tax codes
- Advanced software skills: Quickbooks, MS Excel and MS365 Suite, METRC, Dutchie, or ability to learn
- Ability to triage issues for interdepartmental resolution
- Problem-solving abilities, especially related to product profitability in a volatile retail and wholesale sales market
- Experience auditing physical and digital records and systems; and experience reconciling and resolving financial records in a timely manner, in compliance with local, state and federal requirements including but not limited to Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, IRS, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue, etc.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to clearly define and communicate issues, and coordinate solutions, compliant recordkeeping and resources, e.g., budgets
- Minimum age 21 years
- Ability to pass all required background checks and complete all required training, including but not limited to: Responsible Vendor Training (RVT), General and Administration Department company policies and procedures

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
