As an Interior Designer at our company, specializing in healthcare design, you will play a key role in creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing interior environments for healthcare facilities. Working closely with clients, architects, and other design professionals, you will contribute to the development of innovative interior design solutions that enhance the patient experience, support staff productivity, and align with healthcare industry standards.
1. Interior Design Development: Collaborate with clients and design teams to develop interior design concepts that align with the vision and goals of healthcare projects. Create space plans, mood boards, material palettes, and renderings to communicate design intent effectively.
2. Space Planning and Functional Design: Utilize your expertise in healthcare design principles and knowledge of regulatory requirements to develop functional and efficient interior layouts. Optimize patient flow, staff workflows, and spatial utilization while considering accessibility, infection control, and patient and staff safety.
3. Material and Finish Selection: Research, select, and specify appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet the specific needs of healthcare environments. Consider factors such as durability, cleanability, infection control, and sustainability. Maintain an understanding of industry trends and product availability.
4. Construction Documentation: Prepare detailed interior design drawings, specifications, and documentation. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate interior design elements seamlessly into the overall project documentation. Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
5. Client Communication and Coordination: Interact with clients and stakeholders to understand their design requirements, preferences, and constraints. Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and progress to clients and obtain feedback. Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and vendors to ensure successful project implementation.
6. Compliance and Standards: Stay current with building codes, regulations, and healthcare industry guidelines related to interior design for healthcare facilities. Ensure that interior designs meet all applicable codes, including accessibility standards, life safety requirements, and infection control protocols.
7. Environmental and Sustainable Design: Promote and integrate environmentally sustainable design practices into healthcare interiors, considering energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and resource conservation. Stay informed about sustainable materials and design strategies suitable for healthcare settings.
8. Project Coordination and Team Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure cohesive integration of interior design elements with architectural and engineering systems. Participate in project meetings, contribute to design discussions, and support the overall project coordination efforts.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
2. Relevant experience in healthcare interior design, preferably within an architectural or design firm.
3. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as Revit, or similar tools. Experience with 3D modeling software and rendering tools is desirable.
4. Knowledge of or willingness to learn healthcare design principles, standards, and regulations, including infection control, patient safety, and accessibility requirements.
5. Familiarity with industry-standard interior design software, finish materials and specification tools.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts to clients, team members, and stakeholders.
7. Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
8. Collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
9. Creativity, innovation, and a keen eye for aesthetics and design trends.
10. Familiarity with sustainability and green building practices in healthcare design is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
