Structural Steel Fabrication Shop Lead

The Structural Steel Shop Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the structural steel fabrication shop. This role involves ensuring that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. The Shop Lead also provides guidance and support to shop personnel to optimize efficiency and productivity.Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the structural steel fabrication shop with the Shop Foreman.
• Oversee the fabrication of structural steel components, including cutting, welding, and assembly, “keeping welders welding”.
• Fit/Weld as needed.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Train and mentor shop personnel to enhance their skills and performance.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address production challenges and optimize processes to target Project Manager target dates.
• CNC Production Mindset, to minimize downtime.
• Kit Assembly

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications in welding or metal fabrication are preferred.
• 5 Years Proven experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials used in structural steel fabrication.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
