Position Summary:
We are on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Network Architect to lead the design, deployment, and management of network solutions for a globally recognized event. The candidate must have an extensive background in conceptualizing and rolling out enterprise-grade network infrastructures on an international scale, with previous experience in Media, Entertainment, or Sports Broadcasting industries being a highly regarded asset. The role demands swift adaptability and expertise relevant to the industry in question.
The Senior Network Architect will play a critical role in delivering a network infrastructure that is robust, secure, and cost-efficient, tailored to the requirements of an event with worldwide reach. The successful applicant will demonstrate a blend of business acuity, technical mastery, and the ability to work in concert with a multitude of cross-functional teams.
Primary Duties:
- Establish, refine, and progress the Network Architecture framework, defining standards and collaborating with stakeholders to validate designs through testing phases, ensuring a reliable and secure network system.
- Liaise with diverse groups, including committees, service and equipment providers, cybersecurity consultants, venue technology, and end-user representatives, guaranteeing that all network design requisitions satisfy both functional and non-functional criteria.
- Supervise and validate the delivery efforts of Telecom and Network Equipment partners, endorsing high-quality design documents and advocating best practices for network integration.
- Strategize cost minimization, risk management, and adherence to top industry methodologies.
- Drive innovation by exploring existing technologies and seeking Network-as-a-Service solutions that can be scaled effectively.
- Reevaluate conventional network designs and SLAs to modernize without sacrificing core network demands.
- Document valuable insights throughout the network lifecycle, contributing to the design and operational facets of broader Telecommunications Projects.
- Lead strategic innovations in the network and telecommunications realm to optimize costs and operational efficacy within the event's framework.
- Display exceptional thought leadership, capable of formulating a robust technological strategy and translating it into tangible actions, complete with timelines.
Desired Expertise:
- At least 7 years of experience in enterprise networking, with direct involvement in orchestrating global network infrastructures for prestigious events, specifically within the Media or live-broadcast sports domain.
- Prior experience in Entertainment and Television Broadcasting will be considered an advantage.
- Proven track record in managing complete network projects, from the initial planning stages to final execution, encompassing project management competencies.
- Extensive familiarity with the broad spectrum of telecommunications services and advancements.
- Ability to harmonize network architectures with business aims, blending strategic foresight with practical implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and foster consensus among technical experts and top-tier stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills with the aptitude to convey intricate technical details to non-specialists via verbal and written channels.
- Skilled in real-time troubleshooting, innovative resolution methodologies, and a history of tackling sophisticated network problems.
- Proficient in the evaluation of network systems and managing test environments for rapid prototyping and assessment.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Hands-on experience with the design and deployment of both wired and wireless Layer 2/3 network infrastructures.
- Knowledgeable in optimizing WAN including SD-WAN and other acceleration technologies.
- Familiarity with media broadcast-level connectivity requirements.
- Design and deployment prowess with DDoS protection methodologies.
- Current understanding of network trends and the ability to apply best practices in all networking realms.
- Comprehension of US regulatory standards and compliance as they pertain to network infrastructures.
- Firm grasp on a variety of network protocols, and experience with high-density wireless environments and optimizations at the edge of the network.
- Insight into Open RAN, NFV, and the integration of 5G within existing network architectures.
- Competence in IP-based voice and video services, multicast data distribution, and network security solutions.
- Experience with firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
