What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Foreman position at Bituminous Roadways?

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway / heavy contractor looking for a Shop Foreman to join our team! The Shop Foreman is responsible for maintaining and training competent mechanics. Scheduling daily repairs and parts ordering. Setting up rental equipment as needed and checking to make sure all our fleet is being utilized for renting. Scheduling the parts runner. Maintaining all fuel use and responsible for ordering of fuel. The Shop Foreman at Bituminous Roadways works with equipment dispatcher on moves and move locations. All work completed is specific to asphalt paving equipment and vehicles.

Required : All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. References will also be checked.

Job type : Union, Full-Time, Year-Round (with 2 weeks off over Christmas and New Years)

Work Location : Mendota Heights, MN

Job Duties

Price check and ordering all parts for equipment.
Price check and order all fuel and set up fills for plant sites.
Price check and set up DEF keep fills at all plant sites.
Manage shop admin, parts runner, and mechanics.
Work with equipment dispatcher and check moves.
Work with shop manager to organize and set up winter rebuilds.
Work with shop manager on shop budget.
Work with parts vendors and make sure all warranty parts are reimbursed and all cores and returns are done.
Be a team player with all field sups, foremen and vendors.
Keep up with all repairs and ensure they are fully completed.
Make certain that all safety issues related to equipment / vehicles are addressed immediately.

Preferred Education / Experience :

Vocational school - diesel mechanic hydraulics

5 plus years' experience (mechanic)

Field mechanic experience

Computer skills

Management classes

Training on making a budget and following it

Safety Training

Reliable and strong problem-solving skills
