Required Certifications

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Instructor in delivering classroom and field‑based safety modules (hazard recognition, PPE use, emergency procedures).
- Prepare training materials and props (handouts, slides, demonstration equipment) prior to each session.
- Help set up and tear down classroom and outdoor training areas, including AV equipment.
- Co‑facilitate hands‑on exercises and scenario‑based drills under the Lead Instructor’s guidance.
- Track attendance, distribute and collect evaluation forms, and enter data into the LMS.
- Provide one‑on‑one support to trainees who need extra clarification or practice.
- Monitor participant engagement and flag safety concerns during practical exercises.
- Support the Training Program Coordinator with registration check‑in and logistical communications.
- Assist in updating and organizing electronic training records and resource libraries.
- Help troubleshoot minor AV or technical issues in coordination with IT support.
- Act as a backup instructor for smaller classes when the Lead Instructor is unavailable.
- Participate in post‑class debriefs to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Education, or related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience assisting with adult safety or technical training.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and USDA Forest Service or BLM safety policies.
- Experience working in outdoor or remote field settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and deliver technical content accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic LMS functions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (equipment, training props).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
- Comfort using microphones, projectors, and other AV equipment.
- Capable of standing and moving for extended periods during field exercises.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
- Ability to pass federal background checks and security clearances.
