Traffic/Transportation Engineer - Early/Mid Career
Our growth offers an opportunity for an early to mid-career Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation group. This role focuses on engineering analysis, design development, and client interaction to deliver successful transportation projects.
The selected candidate must have 0-5 years of traffic/transportation experience with consultants or DOT/Municipalities and proficiency in CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD). Experience with Vissim and Synchro is preferred, along with knowledge of traffic impact studies and signal design.
The role involves performing traffic analysis, designing signals and Complete Streets solutions, developing traffic control plans, preparing contract documents, and managing client relationships. Construction staging experience and strong project documentation skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform traffic analysis, signal sequencing, and timing studies using industry-standard modeling tools
- Design traffic signals, intersection geometrics, and Complete Streets solutions
- Develop pavement markings, signage, and temporary traffic control plans
- Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Manage client relationships through responsive communication and service
- Attend project meetings with clients, agencies, and the public
- Maintain organized project documentation and files
Qualifications
- 0-5 years of traffic/transportation experience with consultants or DOT/Municipalities
- Proficiency in CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD) required
- Experience with Vissim and Synchro preferred
- Knowledge of traffic impact studies, corridor design, and signal design
- Strong background in signing and pavement marking design
- Experience in construction staging and traffic control
