What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Traffic Engineer position at Freeman Companies, LLC?

We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team. This individual should have 10 years of experience in traffic engineering who is eager to lead complex traffic and transportation projects. About You:
- Perform, manage, and oversee design on traffic and transportation projects while often being the Technical Design Lead on concurrent projects
- Perform detailed traffic analysis, traffic signal design, traffic modeling and simulation, intersection geometrics, complete streets, and temporary traffic controls
- Review and prepare traffic related contract documents
- Provide responsive client service through strong and expeditious communication with attendance and presentation at client and public meetings
- Mentor junior staff to enhance their knowledge and advance their career development
- Perform business development efforts alongside the Marketing/BD department and manage project pursuits
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 10 years of related engineering experience in Traffic Engineering
- CT Professional Engineer License required or working towards licensure
- Working knowledge of CTDOT requirements and standards
- Proficiency with traffic analysis, modeling, and traffic signal design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Knowledge about traffic signal equipment and controller menu navigation
- Ability to perform on-site signal equipment/operational diagnostic services
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds; to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow); to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
