What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drywall Hanger/Finisher position at BL Harbert International,LLC?
The Drywall Framer/Hanger fastens drywall panels to the inside of buildings using hand tools, power tools or adhesive. In addition the Framer/Hanger Mechanic is a leader for their Helpers and should train and teach their Helpers on a daily basis while simultaneously learning as much as they can to further promote themselves.
Job Duties:
- Measures and marks cutting lines on framing, drywall and trim, using tape measure, straightedge or square.
- Recognize and correct unusual installations.
- Layout work for projects.
- Install metal framing.
- Secure metal framing to walls and furring channels to ceiling.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on drywall.
- Fit, align, and hang doors and install hardware such as locks and kick plates.
- Attach drywall to metal studs using a screw gun. Installing insulation in wall as sheet rock is installed.
- Install horizontal and vertical metal studs.
- Learn and abide by OSHA and BLHI safety rules and regulations.
- Forecast the workload and needs of the helper and yourself so that they do not experience down time.
- Have the ability to read prints.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Drywall Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
