The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and overseeing all procurement and sourcing activities across multiple facilities. This position will manage a team of Procurement Specialists located at each facility to ensure that all raw materials, components, and services are sourced in a cost-effective, timely, and high-quality manner to support manufacturing operations. The Director of Procurement will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and profitability.
This is a hands-on position that will include the following responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company objectives and manufacturing requirements.
- Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, equipment, and services while ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead negotiations on contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible agreements.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including production, engineering, finance, and quality control, to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of advanced procurement principles and procedures along with:
- 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
IDEAL EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Lean Six Sigma certification
