The Company maintains four facilities: one in Fairfield, VA, one in Massillon, OH, one in Waynesboro VA, and one in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Job Description
The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and overseeing all procurement and sourcing activities across multiple UTS facilities. This position will manage a team of Procurement Specialists located at each facility to ensure that all raw materials, components, and services are sourced in a cost-effective, timely, and high-quality manner to support manufacturing operations. The Director of Procurement will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and profitability.
This is a hands-on position that will include the following responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company objectives and manufacturing requirements.
- Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, equipment, and services while ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead negotiations on contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible agreements.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including production, engineering, finance, and quality control, to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and innovation.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
IDEAL EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.
- Lean Six Sigma certification
