Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant at Black Desert Resort is responsible for assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Reporting to the Director of Finance or Controller, this role ensures accurate and timely financial transactions, supports budgeting and audit processes, and helps maintain compliance with accounting policies and standards. The Staff Accountant will work closely with multiple departments to support the resort’s financial operations and strategic goals.

Pay Rate: $23.00 – $27.00/hr. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
· Prepare and review journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
· Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and guest billing.
· Ensure compliance with financial policies, GAAP standards, and internal controls.
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budget variance reports, and cash flow analysis.
· Work closely with department managers to analyze financial performance and support budget planning.
· Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Maintain accurate records and financial data in the accounting system.
· Support tax filings, state and local compliance requirements, and financial reporting deadlines.
· Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, resort, or hotel finance.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Experience with accounting software
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
· Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Hospitality industry experience preferred but not required.
