About the position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Marketing and Outreach Manager to lead the development and execution of our outreach, marketing, and communications strategies. This part-time role (7 hours per week) will be instrumental in expanding the visibility of Black Girls Can, Inc.'s programs and impact. The Marketing and Outreach Manager will engage with local communities, school partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to raise awareness about our mission and events, primarily through social media activation and promotion. Additionally, this position will oversee the creation of marketing materials, manage digital content, and ensure that Black Girls Can, Inc.'s programs reach a broader audience. The Manager will play a key role in driving engagement, attracting new program participants, and promoting our initiatives as part of our ongoing efforts to support Black women in entrepreneurship and STEAM.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote Black Girls Can, Inc.'s programs and events across various channels, including social media, email, and local partnerships. Meet internally to align on the creative direction of the marketing strategy, ensuring it supports the organization's vision and marketing goals.
Content Creation & Social Media Management:
Create and manage engaging digital content, including social media posts, press and public relations, and email campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the organization’s mission. Facilitate the creative feedback loop between designers and place approved assets across the website and social media.
Community & Stakeholder Outreach:
Build and maintain relationships with local communities, schools, and partners to expand awareness of the organization’s programs and increase participation.
Event Promotion & Coordination:
Oversee the promotion and logistics of events and leadership academy sessions, including creating marketing materials, managing event communications, and driving attendance through outreach efforts.
Analytics & Reporting:
Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and outreach efforts, providing regular reports and insights to optimize future strategies.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field three to five years of relevant experience OR seven years of work experience in marketing or outreach roles.

Salary range: This is a part-time contractor role for 6 months, with the potential for renewal based on grant funding. The hourly rate range for this position is between $30 and $35.
