Description Of Essential Duties
- Greets and refers individuals to appropriate staff or College services.
- Provides information and telephone switchboard service for East Campus utilizing the software/system located at the primary Welcome Desk on campus.
- Provides accurate general college information to individuals upon request; assists by referring to appropriate staff.
- Coordinates schedule of student workers to ensure coverage of Welcome Center and phone lines during regular campus hours.
- Provides switchboard training to the Welcome Center staff.
- Communicates new or updated information to co-workers.
- Creates and maintains job aids specific to Welcome Center functions.
- Provides word processing and other clerical duties as needed.
- Performs opening and/or closing procedures.
- Receives and routes East Campus Facilities work orders.
- Calls students for notification of class cancellations and other information as appropriate
- Resolves and logs vendor machine disputes.
- Maintains confidentiality of information collected and distributed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for neat and clean work area.
- Demonstrates BHC core values.
- Accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of work.
- Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers.
- Ability to communicate in a pleasant manner with employees, students, vendors, and the general public.
- Works directly and cooperatively with the Administrative Assistant to the VP for Instruction and Student Services.
- Works directly and cooperatively with the Director of Operations.
- Works cooperatively with all College personnel.
- Works directly with College employees, current and prospective students, and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required. Some college preferred.
- At least one year of telephone system and office experience preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Must be dependable, courteous, and able to meet/work with diverse populations.
- At least a basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
