CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
~ Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location in order to perform assigned tasks.
~ Operates communication equipment (PBX system, radio and telephone console) to receive and dispatch emergency information and/or emergency medical personnel.
~ Types various forms and reports.
~ Maintains log of telephone and radio calls received/transmitted.
~ Maintain knowledge of standard sheriff's office practices and procedures.
~ Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
~ Supervision is received from Director of the Consolidated Communications Center, or other designated supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
~ No functional and administrative supervision is exercised over support staff. Minimum Required Qualifications
~ High school diploma or GED required.
~ Minimum six (6) months related experience preferred.
~ Must be able to type 30 wpm with accuracy and proficiency. Employee is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to type.
~ Must complete Control Terminal Agency Training mandated by the National Crime Information Center within six (6) months after date of employment within the Consolidated Communications Center.
~ Knowledge and previous experience operating a CRT and teletype system preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

~ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in a clear, concise and distinct voice are required.
~ Ability to think and respond promptly during tense and stressful situations.

~ Must be proficient in computer software applications.
