JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Insulation Blanket Manufacturing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabric construction, alteration, and repair, with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship. This role involves working with various fabrics and materials to create, modify, and mend Insulation blankets and items to meet high standards of quality and precision.

Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Create insulation blankets based on design specifications, patterns, and measurements. This includes cutting fabric, sewing pieces together, and fitting blankets as needed.
• Alter and repair existing blankets to ensure a proper fit and restore them to a high standard. This may include resizing, and fixing tears or other damage.
• Verify use of appropriate fabrics, threads, and notions for different projects. Handle and store materials with care to avoid damage.
• Develop or modify blanket patterns based on design specifications or customer requirements. Ensure patterns are accurate and properly aligned.
• Inspect completed blankets and repairs for quality, fit, and adherence to design specifications. Make adjustments as necessary.
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Provide professional advice and recommendations on the use and care of insulation blankets.
• Perform regular maintenance on sewing machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Proven experience as a seamstress or in a similar role. Experience with various types of fabric types is preferred.
• Proficiency in using sewing machines, sergers, and other relevant tools. Strong sewing and alteration skills, required
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in blanket construction and alterations.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Ability to work with creativity and flexibility to meet design requirements and customer preferences.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Manual dexterity to handle sewing machines and tools.
• Ability to use fine motor skills for tasks that involve small components or detailed work
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull items weighing 10 pounds regularly
• Adequate vision for reading instructions, operating machinery or assessing quality
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks without strain
• Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and the ability to operate safely in potentially hazardous conditions.
