Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing our inventory program. This position involves overseeing processes and procedures for a high-volume, small-part inventory system. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to analyze large datasets, and a continuous improvement mindset to optimize inventory operations.
This role focuses on tracking and managing inventory used by contractors for fiber optic cable installation, including materials such as splitters, construction supplies, vaults, markers, and more. The work environment is primarily on contractor sites, which may include buildings or small warehouses with dock doors.
Shift: 1st Shift — 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify stock information and unit identification numbers.
- Conduct inventory audits and maintain accurate records of equipment and parts.
- Unpackage, sort, and stage units for production.
- Receive and log units using RF handheld devices.
- Perform regular cycle counts and audits in compliance with company policies.
- Organize and label inventory, ensuring items are stored in their designated locations.
- Prioritize workflow and manage tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/work outdoors for extended periods.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Excel is a plus.
- Experience with RF handheld devices is preferred but not required.
