Description and Qualifications
The Line Cook Supervisor is responsible for helping to oversee the savory kitchen department, as well as the daily operations and production of savory menu items.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Communication and ordering of all kitchen-specific supplies and equipment
- Proper rotation and monitoring of raw and finished products
- Helping oversee daily meal preparation
- Helping in menu development under guidance from sous chef team and executive chef
- Training of all kitchen team members when necessary
- Completing monthly inventory as directed by the chef team
- Daily execution of assigned station
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Up to 10 cooks
- This position is considered a member of the kitchen leadership team.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Five years experience in a restaurant kitchen or formal Culinary Education and a minimum of 3 years experience in a restaurant kitchen
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to write and speak clearly and effectively
- Must be able to compose effective recipes
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Must be able to convert recipes into larger and smaller batches
- Must thoroughly understand weights, measures, and conversion of both
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Requires constant bending, stooping and reaching
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fully equipped bakeshop staffed by as many as six people at one time
- Requires working as part of the overall kitchen team and sharing of equipment, supplies, and product
- 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain
