What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Warehouse Receiving Lead position at Blackberry?
The Retail Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for the execution and organization of all retail inventory product receiving and distributing. This role is also responsible for the accurate inventory practices needed to bring in merchandise and transfer merchandise to the various intended property. This role has to regularly communicate with the buying team and the shop management team to ensure a timely flow of merchandise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Train new team members on our receiving practices and standards
- Ensure accurate receiving of merchandise by cross referencing invoices with purchase orders
- Communicate with buying team on any cost discrepancies from vendor and system and take appropriate action
- Assist Supervisor in monthly inventory counts of warehouse product
- Assisting with regular General Ledger audits to ensure receipts are recorded properly
- Be the expert on system practices as it pertains to the receiving function
- Keep up with any accrual needs that come across for General Ledger so that our Cost of Goods are accurate
- Maintain updated restock sheets for the shop teams to be able to order accurately
- Communicate with buying team on order replenishment for stock needs
- Communicate with Retail Supervisor on daily restock transfers
- Keep record of Special Order requests and ensure timely shipping upon receipt
- Communicate with buying team on merchandise at third parties ex. Logo merchandise at embroidery/screen print
- Communicate with Retail Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager on supply needs for receiving station
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work nights and weekends.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a shipping environment
Retail shipping experience is preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and managers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to sit or stand for a long period
