An Internship with the IT Department at Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC (BCS) will give you real-world experience in the Information Technology profession. An internship is an opportunity for you to get an inside look at BCS and the day to day of an IT Professional. It is also an opportunity for us to get to know you.
What to Expect:
As an intern of BCS, you will work for a semester while continuing to complete your studies. Work schedules can be customized to compliment school schedules.
Below are some tasks you may have the opportunity to work on:
- Learning a solid understanding of the necessary technical skills for the position and extremely conscientious about adhering to standards and procedures.
- Taking on the ability to resolve technical problems by using tools and software provided by BCS and outside sources to perform research and has the ability to analyze those results and apply to technical issues.
- Learning the skills to be able to work independently on specific advanced systems and projects while maintaining consistent communication with the Director of IT to keep within the scope of current objectives.
- Demonstrating the ability to seek productive work, prioritize and effectively complete assignments.
Eligibility:
- Internships are designed for sophomores or juniors majoring in Informational Technology with at least a 3.0 grade point average or better.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Good problem solving and process improvement skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and receptive to feedback
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
- Strong computer skills
- Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
Salary : $15 - $20
