Blackburn Romey, Trusted Injury Lawyers, is seeking a FULL-TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT at our SOUTH BEND (Granger, IN )office location.
Blackburn Romey is a personal injury law firm serving injured clients by recovering financial compensation. These funds are often needed to pay for medical treatment, make up for lost wages, account for pain and suffering, and provide compensation for injuries suffered. Our practice areas include the following: car, truck, motorcycle, construction, slip and fall, and bicycle accidents as well as brain injuries and wrongful death.
Our staff consists of 6 attorneys and around 30 employees who provide the best service for our clients. We have 6 Indiana office locations (Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, South Bend, Lafayette, Merrillville, and Terra Haute) with 2 fully staffed locations in Fort Wayne and South Bend.
The LEGAL ASSITANT reports to the team attorney while assisting clients on their pre-litigation cases (cases prior to filing suit) and is therefore the frontline for the client. The LEGAL ASSISTANT work directly with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters; needs to be able to multi-task different steps for multiple clients in the process of their claim; and ensures our clients are well taken care of during the pre-suit process.

The following DUTIES include but are not limited to:
- Maintain communication with clients/insurance companies/medical providers/investigators.
- Manage multiple phone calls.
- Maintain physical/digital files.
- Draft & File court pleadings.
- Request, review & file medical records & billing.
- Schedule and Review independent medical examination reports.
- Maintain multiple attorney calendars (conference calls/meetings/hearings)
