CNC Operator/Machinist

Overview:

We are seeking a CNC Machinist to joint our growing team at the fatory located in Rapidan, VA. We are a team of friendly, goal-oriented professionals who love our job and our company. We seek a motivated individual, skilled in their profession, an independent thinker and a good team player.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following areas of granite fabrication:

• Programming and operation of multiple 5-axis CNCs.
• Loading and unloading CNC tables using an overhead crane or manually.
• Keeping production records for CNCs.
• Providing routine maintenance and troubleshooting machines if a problem arises.
• Cleaning machines.
• Meeting production targets and schedules and meeting and exceeding quality control guidelines.
• Operating in a safe environment according to established company guidelines.

Skills

• Ability to operate a CNC machine
• Ability to program basic cuts in AutoCAD-based software installed on the CNC
• Ability to learn new CNC programming and machining skills
• Good computer literacy with preference for previous AutoCAD exposure
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Extreme attention to details
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Strong match skills including the ability add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, rate, ratio, and percent, common fractions and decimals for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license

Experience:

• Strong preference for prior stone experience: countertop fabrication, any masonry experience, other natural stone experience
• Other manufacturing experience with CNC machining

Education:

High school diploma or GED - minimum; prior training on CNC machines.

Physical requirements and Envorinmental conditions:

Work environment is indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment. The typical noise level for this job is loud to very loud. The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions, movement of materials weighing 75 lbs. or more.

Compensation:

The pay rate will be dependent on the candidate's experience, and the minimum advertised pay rate is $23/hour.
