Senior Business Development Representative – Water/Wastewater, Utilities, Nuclear, Energy
Location: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Virginia
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Development Representative with a proven track record in water/wastewater, utilities, nuclear, and energy sectors. The ideal candidate will come with an established book of business, strong industry connections, and experience in contract staffing to drive growth and expand our market presence across Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry expertise, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to generate new business opportunities.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Strategy
- Leverage existing relationships and industry knowledge to identify and secure new business opportunities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to expand market share and revenue in key industries
- Maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and projects, ensuring consistent business growth
- Analyze market trends, industry regulations, and competitor activities to shape sales strategies
Client & Relationship Management
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their challenges and aligning solutions accordingly
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence
Contract Staffing & Workforce Solutions
- Identify client staffing needs and provide contract staffing solutions for engineering, technical, and skilled labor roles
- Work closely with recruitment teams to ensure qualified candidates are matched with client projects
- Develop staffing proposals and negotiate contract terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
- Stay informed about workforce trends, labor laws, and industry-specific staffing challenges
Sales & Contract Negotiations
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring terms align with company objectives and client needs
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to deliver tailored solutions
- Track and report on business development metrics, sales performance, and market penetration efforts
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 10 years of business development experience in water/wastewater, utilities, nuclear, or energy industries
- Established book of business with strong industry relationships and a track record of revenue generation
- Experience in contract staffing, including workforce planning and placement of technical professionals
- Deep understanding of industry regulations, project cycles, and market dynamics
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
