AB/BC Mathematics

The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a high school AP/DE Calculus AB/BC mathematics teaching position that is available at Blacksburg High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement to teach mathematics at the high school level
• Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
• Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
• Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
• Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
• Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
• Ability to be dependable and punctual
• Earned 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
• Endorsed to teach dual enrollment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Earned master’s degree in Education
• Experience teaching Calculus AB/BC

FLSA: Exempt

SALARY:  $50,072.26 - $83,120.04 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
