The Front Desk Attendant for the Aquatics department provides administrative, reception, and program support for the Aquatic Center.Shift may include: Sunday afternoons, Thursday mornings and afternoons, Friday afternoons and evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoonsThe Town of Blacksburg is an EEO Employer M/F/D/V
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Performs clerical duties as required such as maintaining logs and reports and assists with mailingsAssists recreation staff in their duties and assignmentsManages the phone activity including providing general knowledge to callersManages walk-in trafficPerforms membership identification processMaintains common areas and office equipmentAssists in maintaining cleanliness of locker rooms/rest rooms, lobby area and pool decks as necessaryHandles cash receivables and operates a cash register/computerAttends staff meetings and monthly in-servicesAssists with opening and closing proceduresPerforms other job duties assigned, to include but not limited to camps, special events, front desk, swim lessons, and swim team**Front Desk staff is to wear only approved staff clothing
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Must be able to lift or move equipment/chemicals up to 80 pounds with assistance and lift up to 50 pounds unassistedMust stand and/or sit for extended periods of timeMust be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objectsMust be able to occasionally push, pull or balanceAbility to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is neededMay be exposed to chlorine or other pool chemicals, heat, blood or other body
