Position Overview
The Junior Fabricator will assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom metal components, working under the guidance of senior fabricators and project leaders. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the chance to develop your skills in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly while contributing to high-end, custom projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly:
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom metal components, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work with various materials, especially steel, to create high-quality products that meet design specifications.
- Perform cutting, grinding, welding, and finishing tasks under the supervision of senior fabricators.
- Project Support:
- Collaborate with senior fabricators and project leads to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints and shop drawings with guidance from senior team members.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect your work to ensure it aligns with Blacksmith Sawyer Co.’s rigorous quality standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving fabrication challenges as needed.
- Tool & Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, saws, and welding machines.
- Assist with routine maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety & Organization:
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Proactively report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication or a related field (entry-level candidates with relevant training or education will also be considered).
- Basic knowledge of metalworking techniques, including welding, cutting, and finishing.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with MIG and TIG welding (certifications are a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with shop tools such as grinders, plasma cutters, and saws.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn from experienced fabricators.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
