This job entails writing creative, concise reports and talking with our customers about their engines. An interest in engines helps, but the ability to write well is WAY more important.

I don’t really know anything about engines. I’m kind of intimidated by the topic, honestly.
That's fine. Most people don’t know anything about engines or oil. We know we're going to have to train anyone we hire. We have a great training program (Blackstone U!) that will teach you all you need to know about engines, oil, our lab tests, and more.

Do I really need my private pilot's license to work here?

No! Indeed put that there and I can't figure out how to get it off. But we will help you GET your private pilot's license if you are interested!

Have I seen this ad before?
Yes indeed (ha!), you have. We grow about 10% every year and always need more writers. It’s a hard position to fill – the person really has to enjoy writing and do it well.

A cover letter? Seriously?
Seriously! It’s your chance to sell yourself! And a chance to showcase your writing! Send us something interesting. Stock cover letters are so pre-pandemic.

I’ve never heard of Blackstone. Why should I work there?

Role Responsibilities

• Excellent command of the English language, especially punctuation and grammar
• Ability to translate data into plain English
• Good observation skills and a keen attention to detail
• Ability to spot trends
• Use creativity to convey technical information to everyday people
• Edit copy generated by other analysts
