In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
- Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide financial analysis and support to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and controls
- Stay up-to-date with accounting best practices and changes in regulations
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded correctly and accurately
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Complete tax forms
- Paying bills and reviewing accounts payable activity
- Sending bills and receiving payments
- Process payroll
Requirements:
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- CPA or CMA preferred
- At least 10 years of hands-on accounting experience, at least 5 of which were in an entrepreneurial environment
- Advanced Quickbooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel user
- Experience in retail and/or hospitality industries considered a plus
- Data entry skills and a knack for numbers
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize activities
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
