Job Description
The Purchasing Specialist at Blackwood is responsible for reviewing and processing all purchase orders, start to finish. They also handle the post-sale transaction interaction and data entry, acting as the liaison between Blackwood and the distributor. To succeed as a Purchasing Specialist, you should be professional, a team player, and attentive while being accurate. You should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. You must be comfortable with Salesforce and Microsoft Suite and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, a Purchasing Specialist should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others. You will report to the Manager of Operations and support the sales team. They may also aid other executive managers. Lastly, you need to be adept, proficient, highly motivated, able to manage stressful situations, and very dependable.
You Have :
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field –preferred but not required
- Prior administrative experience –preferred but not required
- Excellent computer skills, especially typing.
- Attention to detail.
- Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
Additional Qualifications
The Purchasing Lead works closely with executive officers and must have the requisite skills to function in that position. A bachelor’s degree and a record of accomplishment are assets for this position. Special training in bookkeeping, word processing, document management, business administration, and data entry is recommended.
