Position Title: Dance Instructor for Youth (Independent Contractor)
Pay Rate: $25-$35 per session
FLSA: Part Time (1-2 Classes per week)
Position Summary: The Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District is currently seeking a Dance Instructor for leading a class 1-2 days a week. Dance Instructor must be able to teach kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons to youth of ages, toddlers to teens.
- Provide clear instruction to participants of varying skill levels and ages.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where youth feel confident and supported.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and ensure youth practice safely.
- Maintain rosters of attendance.
- Work closely with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and well-organized program.
- Ensure all classroom equipment and facilities are in good condition before and after classes.
- Lead engaging and developmentally appropriate dance classes for kids of all ages.
The Candidate should possess the following:
- Experience working with and supervising groups of children from toddlers to teens.
- Polite, respectful, and professional.
- Community oriented, fair, honest, and have good reasoning skills.
- Team player who can also work independently and is willing to learn new skills.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Must pass background checks.
- Previous experience teaching dance to youth, from toddlers to teens.
- Ability to engage and inspire participants of all skill levels.
- Availability to teach 1-2 times a week.
- A positive, energetic attitude with a passion for dance and teaching youth.
- Must have a valid CPR certificate and liability insurance
