Job Description:
The Blake School seeks a 0.6 Middle School b and teacher from Jan. 6-June 6, 2025 , to cover a faculty sabbatical. This professional will lead three ensembles (novice, intermediate and advanced) with the support of section coaches for small group instruction. Each ensemble meets 2-3 times per week in 70-minute classes to practice repertoire for performances including: the Band Ensemble Festival Day with Upper School students (January); the MS Band Solo Festival (March); and the Spring Band Concert (May). Blake will provide the candidate with repertoire options for the second semester concert so the candidate can finalize the program. For candidates with a proven record of successful band and orchestra teaching, this position may be combined with Middle School o rchestra to make a 1.0 interim position for the second semester of the 2024-25 school year.
