PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Anesthesia Services Administrative Coordinator is responsible for coordinating operational functions for Anesthesia Services at Blanchard Valley Health System. Works collegially with Perioperative leadership to coordinate scheduling, billing / charges, data analytics and supports business functions of all procedural areas. Works in a dyad relationship with Chair of Anesthesia. Develops strategic partnerships with all surgical services leadership to enhance service.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duty 1 : Maintains adequate staffing and manages daily operations / coverage plans at all 3 anesthesia locations (Blanchard Valley Hospital, Bluffton Hospital and Findlay Surgery Center).
- Duty 2 : Monitors all non-clinical operations such as charge capture, billing and collections.
- Duty 3 : Produces reports for anesthesia site utilization, procedure volumes and surgeon / specialty specific needs.
- Duty 4 : Reviews financial reports for the department, detailing insight into future results based on anticipated changes in staffing / coverage plan.
- Duty 5 : Works to maintain high morale and team work within the department.
- Duty 6. Understands current policies and procedures relating to employment and consistently follows these policies.
- Duty 7 : Stays abreast of industry trends, including those that impact staffing costs, professional fee payments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business travel and community involvement.
