Blast Craft is seeking a dependable, responsible, mature and disciplined individual interested in learning to design granite memorials. The primary responsibility of a Design Artist is to create custom proofs for granite memorials. This is done by taking creative and design input from our customers and the Design Director. The Design Artist must have artistic ability, an eye for detail, strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills (internally and working with our customers) and be able to consistently manage daily workloads and deadlines. Successful candidates must be able to work in a group setting and contribute to the team dynamic in a positive way.
The Design Artist must have advanced computer skills and have some prior experience in an artist or designer role. Experience using programs such as Photoshop, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator are a must and experience using programs such as Sketchup, Gerber Omega or Memorial Designer are a big plus.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret customers’ orders and requirements
- Create custom proofs
- Take ownership of customers’ issues and follow through to satisfactory resolution
- Follow design artist procedures, policies and standards
- Maintain an orderly workflow according to the priorities of the day
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 year’s experience in a professional work environment
- 2 years in a designer role working with customers directly
- Advanced computer skills with experience in Photoshop, CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator
- Bring a positive attitude to work without exception
- Must be comfortable solving problems on the fly, troubleshooting and multi-tasking
- Proficiency in English with strong client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal
- High School degree required; some secondary education preferred
- 3 personal references required
